Abstract

[eng] Economic Analysis of Pig Breeding Enterprises : four concrete cases - The geographical conditions, initial orientations and evolution of the different firms are not identical However, the economic analysis shows that production costs are dominated by feedstuff expenses ; here, the competence of the breeder results in lower feedstuff expenses. At the level of fixed costs, the items amortization and labour present a certain complementarity, their importance depends on the choice of the breeder. As is the case for production costs, the margins vary greatly. . Thus it seems that the competitive situation of the firm does not depend so much on its size, the optimum of which is hard to determine, but on the minimization of the different expense items.
