Abstract

[eng] The intermingling of tasks and croqs in family farms makes considerably more complicated the estimation of input available according to the classical analytical method. This evaluation is much more easy to make globally. The information given by traditional agricultural surveys enable one to calculate the number of days' labour necessary for the cultivation of one «r are » and the minimum percentage of fallow necessary for fertility to be maintained in a given production system. These standards applied to the cultivated areas of farms having similar technical and economic characteristics give, by showing the difference between their total resources, the labour and land which can be devoted to new activities because they are at present insufficiently utilized.
