Abstract

. Classification JEL : G22, G28 [eng] This article gives the «Europe of insurance» review and prospects and notes that : -the European competition is now theoretically almost complete except in the retail insurance ; -the insurance markets’ interpenetration is widely based on subsidiaries which are set up in other European countries. The aim is to take advantage of this firm’s strategy. -an efficient and convergent prudential regulation for European insurance societies has to be introduced in the Community. The recent implementation of «Lamfalussy Committees» and «Solvency II» represent in this respect two great challenges. . JEL classification : G22, G28
