Abstract

Classification JEL : G2 [eng] Non bank participants in the financing sector . The purpose of « non bank » participants in the financing sector is to fulfill the consumer’s needs in terms of financing goods. Their first role is to make financing solutions and customer service a competitive advantage for their parent company. By integrating this function, you put yourself in a better position to sell your products, to provide appropriated financing, to manage more aggressively the credit risk and you unify the selling process. Their second role is to act as a shock absorber for their parent company. They generate profits in areas that are not the core business of the company. This is even truer during difficult times when their activities are strongly supported by their parent company. This role goes beyond that of a shock absorber when the parent company delays restructuring actions by relying upon the profits generated by their captive financing arm. Moreover, they are capital consuming, tightly regulated and require special skills. In addition, they make the financial reports more complex to analyze. . JEL classification : G2
