Abstract

[eng] 1997 : a change in French capital management . The capital management French industry is in a large part integrated into the banking and insurance sector. This is due to a context where saving has been for long subject to intermediation. On the contrary, capital management on behalf of third parties is, in the Anglo-Saxon model, considered a clearly defined profession. French capital management standards are good as regards their size and management institutions ratings, as well as their cash and capability of presenting results evolution charts. However, legal structures and mentalities are to evolve in order to give different management professions an autonomy which is essential to face international competition.
