Abstract

[eng] Cooperation organization between private institutions : The Institute of International Finance case. The Institute of International Finance was created by private banks which, since 1983, have decided to harmonize their efforts in the fields of documentation, reflection and negotiation in order to deal with the crisis involving developping countries' debt. This flexible institution, located in Washington DC, has contributed to solving problems caused by international debt over the 80's. Today, it is focusing on new subjects of concern, such as : derivatives, prudential ratios, emerging markets... [fre] L'Institut de finances internationales est une initiative de banques privées qui à partir de 1983 ont décidé d'harmoniser leurs efforts de documentation, de réflexion et de négociation pour faire face à la crise de la dette des pays en développement. Cette institution souple et légère, basée à Washington DC, a contribué à la résolution des problèmes posés par l'endettement international au cours des années quatre-vingt. Elle s'oriente aujourd'hui vers de nouveaux sujets de préoccupation : produits dérivés, ratios prudentiels, marchés émergents...
