An analysis of respective advantages shows that a rapprochement between banks and insurance companies is probable. Other factors, most notably those that are international in nature, lead one to believe that regulatory obstacles which are presently inhibiting a coming together will eventually fade away. Furthermore, in the new deal of the cards between bankers and insurers certain other parties (business, distributors, the state) have joined the game. Thus, the advent of a single sector of financial services within the next decade appears as a plausible future scenario.
