Abstract

[eng] The restructurations which occured in several western countries analysed overa long period of time, reveal the existence of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) waves. In France, the lack of information on this subject make difficult for economics and finance professionals to assess if the French mergers and acquisitions market follows the same rules as in other countries. Therefore; the goal of this note is double :. - first, it aims to establish series of consistent information related to M&A market in France over a large period and in the light of several works published on this subject during the last three decades,. It also aims to identify and analyse the characteristics of differents M&A movements which occured during the 1959-1992 period.
