Géo-Économie : leçons de l'expérience américaine

  • Stephen S. Cohen

[eng] The international economy is undergoing, very fundamental transformation, both as concerns the extent and nature of international competition and as concerns the Japanese revolution in production methods and organization : the emergence of the « learn production » model or Toyotisme.. The article analyses the effects on the US economy and the desastrous responses by policymakers. The analysis is more particularly concerned with the negative evolutions in the field of high technologies. Analyzing subsequently the situation of Europe which is otill worse, from many stand points, the central question is whether Europe will be able, taking benefit of the American experience, to define and implement more appropriate responses.
