Abstract

[eng] If we compare, on one hand, the old Provencal shipbuilding and ship repairing industrial complexes which are condemned or declining today and, on the other hand, the new oceanic robotics activities expanding in the same area, we can notice radical differences concerning productive rationality as well as territorial organization.. In spite of these differences, an historical analysis makes it possible to find out the relationship established between the old and the new Provencal maritime industries : these relationships are not filiation from the old to the new but rather selective fertilization of the old by the new. Historical analysis also allows to discern the conditions of such a selective fertilization : these conditions lie on the interaction of the social actors, the professional cultures and representations they have developed in relation with the productive structures and rationalities of the various involved firms.
