Abstract

[eng] Modern industry is undergoing radical transformations at two different and complementary levels : a technological revolution, characterized by its drive towards integrated, flexible, fluid production systems, and a socio-organizational revolution, under which the old taylorian and fordian principles give way to new management models, based upon power-sharing, de-centralization, communication, cooperation and re-qualified work. Such radical transformations put in question :. — from a practical standpoint, most of our management tools (return on investment calculation, accounting, cost accounting) ;. — from a more theoretical standpoint, some of the basic principles of micro-economic analysis (production function and factors, productivity measures).. Therefore, a broad field is open to economic research to develop new concepts, better adapted to modem industrial realities.
