Abstract

[eng] Abstract Lawsuits of Officialité de Cambrai for breach of engagement, divorce, adultery, incest give hindsight to the woman condition. 80% of legal actions are brought by humiliated or ill-treated women of all status and particularly of the working class. The originality of this court being to deal with cases which can not be brought to civil courts, women's testimonies reveal a daily life of violence and alcoolismfor which the weakers have little recourse even when they can state their grievances.
