Abstract

[eng] Abstract This article concerns the ideas of northern kalian chronicles about their city's founding, between fourteenth and sixteenth centuries; through those fonts, I intend to examine the complex city's self-image. Indeed, the vision of city's founding reveals the perception of city's identity : both medieval anf humanist historiography claimed an old and heroic founding, in order to exalt the great destiny of the cities. Although those texts seem to be writings of propaganda, of citizenry's ideology, a precise analysis of their structures provides a violent vision of urban communities : cities were founded in struggles and crimes, what denies the founding's heroic character.
