Abstract

[fre] Résumé Citroën, premier constructeur automobile français, tombe en faillite en 1934. Michelin, le plus grand fabricant de pneus en France, reprend l'affaire en 1935. Il choisit une autre politique pour Citroën : stratégie financière pour retrouver le profit, et politique industrielle pour améliorer la productivité et la qualité. Michelin est prêt à bouleverser les idées de Ford. Mais la crise en France est longue. Les mesures sociales du Front Populaire coûtent cher et font peur à Michelin. Il décide de lancer d'autres mesures, cette fois plus structurelles. Pour concevoir et fabriquer autrement l'automobile, Michelin crée chez Citroën un centre d'études de marché, puis développe un bureau d'études capable de bouleverser toutes les habitudes de l'automobile. [eng] Abstract Citroën, the first french car producer, becomes bankrupt in 1934. He is taken over in 1935 by Michelin, the greatest tyre company in France. Michelin chooses an other strategy for Citroën : financial strategy to find again the profit and industrial strategy to mend the quality and the productivity. Michelin is ready to throw down the Fordism. But, the french crisis is long. The social lawes of the Front Populaire are expensive and frights Michelin. The tyre company chooses a other strategy. This time, more structural. To conceive and to make otherwise the car, Michelin organizes at Citroën' s company the marketing and expound a technic center who is able to throw down all the uses of the automobile manufacturers.
