[fre] Résumé Les entreprises italiennes de travaux publics s'intéressèrent de bonne heure aux affaires perses. Tel fut le cas de l'Impresit, grosse société fondée en 1929 et contrôlée par Fiat. En effet, la Perse s'engagea, sous le règne de Reza Pahlevi, dans un grand effort de modernisation dont profitèrent l'industrie et les infrastructures de transport. L'opération la plus spectaculaire fut la construction du chemin de fer transiranien. Les entreprises italiennes y participèrent activement, à l'instar d'Impresit, d'Angiolini Balocca ou de Mot- tura & Zaccheo, mais elles connurent de sérieux déboires. Au total, les affaires iraniennes ne répondirent guère aux espoirs mis en elles. [eng] Abstract Italian civil engineering firms were quick off the mark in evincing an interest in Persian affairs. Such was the case of Impresit, a large firm formed in 1929, and remaining under the control of Fiat. Indeed, Persia in the region of Reza Pahlevi initiated a grand modernisation drive, from which manufacturing industry and the transportation infrastructure were due to benefit. The most spectacular scheme was the building of the Trans-Iranian railway. Italian firms were at the forefront in this operation, as instanced by Impresit, Angiolini Balocca or Mottura & Zaccheo ; however, they were soon beset by serious difficulties. Ultimately, Iranian business fell well short of living up to initially sanguine expectation.
