Abstract

[eng] Abstract The entrance into the world, a very important moment in the rich or noble people's life, still remains unexplored. It is the reason why French and English novels published in the eighteenth century are so interesting, because it is one of their favourite subjects. This subject is not only a literary common-place, but has also a real historical value. The entrance into the world means the discovery by mostly provincial young noble or very rich people, of chief cities' world. In France, the «world» is often limited to the entrance into the societies ; in England, it also means the great variety of the London pleasures.
