Abstract

[eng] Abstract The international cartelization of the 1930's should not be confused with the European vision that would eventually emerge after World War II. The War may not have transformed the dignitaries of the Comité des Forges into ardent modernizers, nor have turned the tycoons of the Ruhr into good Europeans overnight. Moreover, the steel industries on both sides of the Rhine then united against the Schuman Plan ; seing they could prevent the creation of a coal-steel pool in Europe, captured it from within.
