Abstract

[eng] Abstract The study of two livres de raison enables to follow up the domestic staff of a municipal magistrate of Lyon, that is to say 98 persons, then to compare it to the one of a tallages treasurer, that is to say 19 persons. A quick rate of mobility is therefore shown : the faithful domestics are only but exceptions, and the median staying time at the master's is of about seven and a half months. Facing this instability, the masters prefer to attempt stabilization strategies, even if it is possible for them to provide almost instantly the abandoned positions. If the menaces of wages reductions remain inefectual, the increase promises seem more efficient. Nevertheless, the family group of existence undergo ceaseless modifications and the authority of the master may be transgressed at any moment by the departure of domestics apparently little concerned by the economic stakes.
