[fre] Résumé Entre 1660 et 1730, l'Inquisition traque essentiellement les judéoconvers : un condamné sur sept est un nouveau chrétien judaïsant, un marrane portugais. La lecture de 400 autodafés particuliers a permis à Michèle Escamilla de ressusciter un monde étrange, baroque, émouvant et des réseaux familiaux où la peur du bûcher engendre des haines et des délations. Dans cette Espagne crépusculaire, on arrête des milliers de gens qui n'ont commis d'autre faute que d'être fidèles au credo de leurs ancêtres. La plupart passeront le reste de leurs jours dans les prisons «de miséricorde». [eng] Abstract Between 1660 and 1730, Spanish Inquisition tracks out most of all conversos. 70% of prisoners are convert-jews, judaizantes. Through a close analysis of 400 «autodafés particulares», Michèle Escamilla shows a strange, odd and moving universe, in which such scenes often include actions of special density.
