Abstract

[eng] Abstract : This article reminds that soldiers gave up the profession of arms to retreat among the monks. Some pronounced monastic vows, particularly after the religious wars and League's defeat, but also after dangerous wounds or afflictions during their military life. The orders of mendicant friars, then in the end of XVIIth century, the most severe observances of repute, such as the Trappe, attract them in priority. Other soldiers, the oldest, were received by the monks more or less willingly, even after the establishment of the Hospital for disabled soldiers. Unfortunately, the sources of information don't allow a serial study of this question.
