Abstract

[eng] The Clean Car . In 1993, only catalytic converters will allow petrol-run cars to satisfy European atmospheric pollution standards. . In France, the poor estimation of the development of this regulation has led to the virtual disappearance of French manufacturers from the catalytic convenor market, which is valued at 50 billion French francs. . As a result, these manufacturers are concentrating their efforts on the next step : the electric car. Such a car could be the longer term answer to environmental concerns. However, its current technical and economic disadvantages mean that it is limited to professional use and that, even in this context, public aid is required. [spa] El coche propio .
