Abstract

[eng] Paternal line, maternal line: related roles in social heredity - In order to take paternal and maternal « inheritance » into account in each person's social position, it is necessary to go through the men, that is, the two grandfathers. . In this way, it may be observed that the status of farmer is more easily transmitted Mirhpl Collar when the paternal grandfather is a farmer than when it is the maternal grandfather. . Non-agricultural economic assets and cultural assets are transmitted both through . paternal as well as maternal lines, but in order to be transmitted by the mother they . are often the object of a conversion. . « Father-in-law - son-in-law » mobility leads to the study of social heredity, no longer of individuals, but between generations of couples. The transmission of family assets from parents to the daughter and son-in-law is perhaps somewhat less efficient than from parents to sons. It is definitely accompanied more often by a modification of the nature of these assets.
