Abstract

[eng] Salaries in 1983 - The growth of the worker salary rate was higher in the first quarter than that provided for in the agreements negotiated at the end of the wage and price freeze of 1982. But, the rise clearly slowed in the course of the two following quarters. As for the minimum wage, it was less strongly revalued in 1983 than in 1981 and 1982. The narrowing ot the gaps in the hierarchy of wage-earners continued. The relative distance between skilled workers and minimum wage workers continued to diminish, since the minimum wage raises were passed on only partially. The average annual buying power of civil servants diminished slightly, except for those having the lowest pay, who benefit from low growth.
