Abstract

[eng] The demographic assumptions of the VI Ith Plan - The demographic assumptions chosen by the Vllth Plan converge on an average increase of population of about 180 000 persons a year against some 400 000 during the period extending ; from 1965 to 1975. The increase of the number of households and, consequently, that of places of residence would decelerate. Nevertheless, available labour-force which depends scarcely upon recent demographic evolution, marked since 1975 by a clear birth-fall, will pursue a constant growth until 1980 in spite of decrease inflexions because of migration quota systems and eventual alterations in the rythm of retirement on account of age.
