Abstract

[eng] Nowadays, — more or less — all agricultural population's children have access to secondary education, while twenty years ago or so, most of them were excluded from it. More and more children belonging to agricultural population attend senior education. Have such changes lead to a significant reduction of chances disparity? At first sight, it does not seem to be so, according to the analysis carried out with respect to the kind of new education and its level. Either in the first cycle of secondary education, in the second cycle or in higher education, advancement in schooling of children belonging to population dependent on agriculture is accomplished above all in the low channels; the most striking example is that of the short agridultural cycle. If children whose families depend on agriculture were numerous in having access to lower certificate and to short cycle, diplomas, those of the most favoured social classes have become, in their majority, bachelors and students; consequently, is disparity between chances to be found at other levels?
