Les travailleurs musulmans d'Algérie dans la métropole

Abstract

[fre] L'effectif global des musulmans d'Algérie établis en France est assez mal connu, les différentes évaluations qui en ont été faites paraissant inférieures à la réalité. Cet effectif doit être actuellement assez voisin de 300.000 personnes. . Seuls sont exactement relevés les mouvements de la main-d'œuvre musulmane entre l'Algérie et la France. Les départs d'Algérie obéissaient jusqu'au début de l'année 1956 à des rythmes bien déterminés : tendance croissante au cours des dix dernières années, variations saisonnières bien établies, variations d'ordre conjoncturel et paraissant liées à celles de l'activité de l'emploi en France, accessoirement, influence du rendement des récoltes. Ces rythmes se sont trouvés complètement bouleversés en 1956 par les événements politiques.
