L'industrie de l'aluminium au Canada

Abstract

[fre] Le Canada ne possède pas les matières premières nécessaires à la fabrication de l'aluminium. Cependant grâce à des ressources hydro-électriques considérables, l'industrie de l'aluminium a pu prendre un essor extraordinaire au cours de la guerre où la production a atteint sept fois le niveau d'avant-guerre. Il semble, que malgré une baisse en 1946, cette industrie doive se maintenir à un niveau assez élevé. Des recherches sont actuellement faites dans les Laboratoires de l'Aluminium Company of Canada en vue de trouver de nouvelles utilisations de ce métal. Les dirigeants de cette Société ont annoncé un programme d'expansion d'une des usines.. L'aluminium fabriqué au Canada est exporté en grande partie ; moins de 10% de la production sont consommés sur le marché intérieur.
