Abstract

[fre] La période de reconversion n'est pas encore achevée en Egypte, où un chômage important se manifeste. Cependant, on s'efforce de maintenir en les adaptant, celles des nombreuses industries nées de la guerre qui peuvent être rentables et fournir un appoint précieux aux ressources égyptiennes. En outre, la physionomie traditionnelle de l'économie égyptienne pourrait bien subir des modifications importantes dues à l'abandon progressif du système de la monoculture du coton qui ne saurait subvenir longtemps encore à tous les besoins d'un pays dont la population croit plus rapidement que la surface des terres cultivables. . La lutte contre le chômage a donné lieu à la création d'un plan quinquennal de portée restreinte qui contribuera néanmoins à l'équipement du pays. . On constate une stabilisation des prix depuis la fin de 1945 et une tendance à la baisse dans certains secteurs.
