Abstract

[fre] Dans une étude précédente, Weill-Raynal a souligné l'équivoque de certaines expressions telles « la grande ou la petite exploitation domine dans l'agriculture française ». Les petits exploitants sont en effet les plus nombreux, mais ce sont les grandes exploitations qui occupent la plus grande partie de la superficie du territoire. . Ce problème est lié à l'étude générale de la concentration, mais ce terme est susceptible de prendre de nombreux sens différents. L'objet de la présente étude est d'analyser différentes conceptions correspondant au mot « concentration » et de rechercher pour chacune des acceptions un indice permettant d'effectuer une mesure. . Les conceptions étant multiples, il en sera de même des instruments de mesure : concentration statistique autour d'une valeur centrale, concentration économique résultant de la tendance vers l'oligopole et le monopole, concentration économique résultant de l'importance prise par les grandes exploitations comparativement aux petites, aspect statique et aspect dynamique, etc.
