Cross-border cooperation, Euroregions and the Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion

Abstract

Th is article deals with cross-border cooperation: its development in Europe and more specifi cally in the Czech Republic, about its intensity, forms and about structures supporting cross-boder cooperation. It describes creation of euroregions in Europe and consequently also in the Czech Republic (overview of euroregions). In its second part focusing on the specifi c example of Euroregio Neisse-Nisa-Nysa it analyzes prerequisites for regional development of the euroregion. Both problems (weaknesses) as well strengths and development potential are identifi ed.
