Abstract

The study discusses the importance and meaning of the Jewish Shabbat for economic society, which loses consciousness of belonging of human being with the world and nature. Intellectual potential of the Sabbath offers one of the essential recovering bases for the alienation of human natural life and work. The philosophical search for the meaning of work and free time can found its answer in the Judaic framework concept of the meaning of human activities, regular rest and time value. Shabbat contains a message for the perception of the world as a valuable space for life and responsible work with prospective of past, present and future.
