Paycosts management via strategic segmentation of jobs into Job Families

Abstract

This article describes a new concept of paycosts management in commercial companies via the segmentation of jobs into Job Families. The purpose of this article is to instroduce a new concept and methodology regarding the management of paycosts. This innovational approach was created to improve the paycosts management in commercial companies. Presented approach is innovative due to the change in the paycosts management which can be seen as an investment in human capital. The combination of necessary adjustments in the compensation system and application of strategic job segmentation enables more effective paycosts management and reinforces the transparency of compensation system in commercial companies on a long term basis. The Job Familes concept is based on data retrieved from analysis of actual compsensation systems, this analysis was put into practice in the area of commercial companies within the european region. The long term analyses of data and policies of compensation systems facilitated the creation of the Job Families concept, said concept was afterwards integrated into selected compensation systems of companies operating in various segments and various European countries. The main objective of the research was to verify that this concept is applicable and to verify its positive impact on the paycosts management in commercial companies.
