Abstract

Condit?iile de locuire sunt una dintre cele mai importante probleme ale societa?t?ii umane, cu efecte profunde i?n ceea ce prives?te funct?ionarea societa?t?ii i?n ansamblul ei. Modelul de locuire din Roma?nia zilelor noastre, comun cu al altor foste state foste comuniste din zona central s?i est-europeana?, este caracterizat de un procent ridicat al proprietarilor de locuint?e, un procent redus al caselor ipotecate s?i achizit?ionate cu credit imobiliar, un procent sca?zut al chiriilor s?i o fract?iune insignifianta? a locuint?elor sociale existente. Supraaglomerarea din locuint?ele din Roma?nia s?i lipsa accesului unui procent important de populat?iei, mai ales i?n mediul rural din anumite regiuni ale t?a?rii, la dota?ri minim necesare unei locuint?e decente (acces la apa? curenta?, toaleta? s?i baie i?n casa?, etc.), ne pozit?ioneaza? pe primul loc i?ntre statele Uniunii Europene. La aceasta se mai adauga? calitatea locuint?elor, investit?iile sca?zute i?n cres?terea gradului de confort al locuint?elor existente, datorate nivelului sca?zut al veniturilor populat?iei, precum s?i procentul sca?zut al construct?iilor noi. Articolul analizeaza? aceste aspecte dintr-o perspectiva? istorica?, i?ncerca?nd sa? identifice cauzele din perioadele istorice anterioare, dar s?i dintr-o perspectiva? comparativa? cu celelalte state europene, utiliza?nd datele statistice oferite de Eurostat.
