Gift Symbolism in International Business

Abstract

Preparing for a business meeting requires thorough knowledge not only of the information to be discussed and the material to be presented, but also of details regarding specific business etiquette, which varies dramatically from one cultural space to another. The paper focuses on an important component of business manners, namely gift offering, which can make the difference between a successful meeting and a fiasco.
