Abstract

The paper starts from the premise that, in the context of global economy, every type of business activity, from headhunting to marketing, is determined by individual patterns of perception, thought, and behavior, generically named ‘cultural background’. In international business environments, therefore, business negotiation is accompanied by a negotiation of national identifies, which, according to its efficiency, contributes substantially to the success or the failure of the former. Consequently, this research attempts to outline the main components of efficient multicultural communication in business and to emphasize the role of diversity management as a strategy of coping with global economy.
