Abstract

In computerized enterprises, gathering huge amounts of data, traditional data processing would be highly ineffective and in turn fail to provide us with as interesting information, forecasts and relations, as Business Intelligence systems, for which Data Warehouses are the basis. The paper tries to answer a few questions regarding the nature Data Warehouse, the service it provides and its application. The author also discusses the stages of Data Warehouse construction and its influence on the effectiveness of the economic decision making processes within an enterprise.
