Abstract

The aim of the research was to qualify the theory of capital structure in aspect of financing of the small enterprises. The elaboration also deals with the assessment of conditions which influence the capital structure of agriculture holdings according to the farmers’ opinion. The survey was conducted with the use questionnaire in 2008, carried out on the group of 100 farmers leading individual agricultural farms in the FADN system in the Mazowieckie voivodship. As a main obstacle of engagement of the foreign capital, farms’ managers pointed out to the too complicated and time-consuming bank procedures. Framers also indicated the problem concerning the synchronization of financial flows which should provide a punctual repayment of debts. Among preferred financing structures farmers identified those which contained 25% participation of debts in total assets.
