Energía eléctrica en el Valle del Paraíba: empresas, empresarios y Estado en la construcción del sector eléctrico (1900-1970)

Abstract

El presente artículo pretende comprender el proceso de transformación delsistema eléctrico del Valle del Paraíba paulista, discutiendo las posibilidades dedesarrollo de las ciudades que se encontraban en la conexión entre las urbes deRío de Janeiro y São Paulo. En los años transcurridos entre las décadas de 1930y 1950, el Valle del Paraíba pasó de ser una región cuyo sector eléctrico estabafragmentado y organizado por medio de empresas municipales a integrarse alsistema interconectado de Light, para, finalmente, pasar a recibir energía decompañías estatales en la década de 1960. Este artículo pretende recuperar latrayectoria del sector eléctrico en la región, estableciendo una relación entreel sector eléctrico y el desarrollo económico.
