Agricultura y servicios ecosistémicos: el caso del espárrago en Ica

Abstract

En el mundo, se aprecia la expansión de una agricultura sostenible que es sinónimo de incremento en la productividad de los cultivos sobre la base del uso eficiente de los recursos naturales con un enfoque ecosistémico e intertemporal. Este artículo explora la articulación entre agricultura y servicios ecosistémicos a partir del caso del espárrago en Ica. Se trata de llamar la atención sobre el capital natural que apoya el desarrollo de este cultivo y la capacidad de los productores para adoptar prácticas de conservación de suelos y manejo de agua. Se evidencia que la probabilidad de adoptar alguna práctica de conservación de suelo o manejo de agua aumenta con la educación, la asesoría y capacitación y el acceso al crédito.
