Males de amor. Una comparación entre el episodio de Marcela y Grisóstomo del Quijote y el episodio de Francesca y Paolo de la Comedia

Abstract

Este artículo compara personajes y situaciones de dos escenas relevantes del Quijote de Cervantes y de la Divina comedia de Dante, respectivamente: don Quijote, Sancho Panza, Dante, Virgilio, Grisóstomo, Paolo y, de manera especial, Marcela y Francesca. Las historias de Marcela y Francesca se interpretan desde distintas perspectivas, entre ellas la aportada por el «Palacio de Amor», descrito en el tratado De Amore, de Andrea Cappellano. Tanto la frigidez de Marcela como la lascivia de Francesca se explican como enfermedades ubicadas en distintos lugares del «Palacio de Amor».
