Mortalidad materna y derechos humanos

Abstract

Este artículo busca complejizar nuestra percepción de los factores que confluyen en la muerte materna. La tasa sigue siendo alta en el Perú y muchos causales están fuera del alcance de los marcos médicos. Ampliar el marco hacia los derechos humanos permite situar a los actores en mundos de obligación, aspiraciones, identidad y limitaciones. El enfoque propuesto permite traer al debate una serie de estudios empíricos poco conocidos. Atender sus implicancias daría pie a nuevas estrategias de reducción de la muerte materna en el Perú.
