Abstract

El objetivo es describir y discutir algunos hallazgos sobre la formación universitaria y el aprendizaje de médicos y médicas en su Servicio Rural Urbano Marginal en Salud (SERUMS) en la región Junín. La preparación que reciben los serumistas es hospitalaria y sus aspiraciones una vez que egresan están más ligadas a curar patologías complejas que a desarrollar acciones de atención primaria. El manejo de programas de prevención y promoción en puestos y centros de salud es un vacío recurrente. Comunicarse, dar confianza, recuperar y apoyar las decisiones de los pacientes, todo ello se dificulta en situaciones de emergencia o incertidumbre sobre sus dolencias. El énfasis en cómo lograr una atención humanizada en la que tanto profesionales como pacientes puedan escucharse y acordar decisiones conjuntas es un desafío en construcción.
