Experimentos de campo en economía: preferencias en relación al riesgo y demanda por contratos intertemporales en el Perú

Abstract

Este artículo analiza los determinantes de la elección de proyectos productivos que involucran contratos intertemporales en el Perú rural. En un contexto donde el nivel de educación formal es reducido, la introducción exitosa de instrumentos financieros puede verse afectada por la falta de entendimiento de las características de los contratos de préstamo y de seguros, así como por sesgos de percepción. Encontramos que, a diferencia de lo que sucede con el nivel de activos, la educación –como una fuente de dichos sesgos de juicio– y (débilmente) la aversión al riesgo afectan la elección de proyectos productivos.
