La esclavitud en el Perú colonial

Abstract

La esclavitud fue la forma más sencilla de obtener mano de obra gratuita. Hoy, aún subsiste (disfrazada) en algunas zonas del planeta. Su origen es muy antiguo. En la Era Moderna se la identificó con la esclavitud de los africano. En este sentido, muchos libros se han escrito sobre el particular. Sin embargo, para el caso peruano, faltan estudios más concienzudos sobre el tema y evaluaciones generales sobre dicho fenómeno. El presente artículo resume y evalúa la importancia de este sistema en el Perú colonial, el cual no solo afectó directamente a los pobladores africanos sino, además, a asiáticos, moros e indígenas.
