Abstract

La expansión de la industria textil inglesa luego de la segunda revolución industrial genera una gran demanda de materia prima, demanda que permite que la región sur andina de nuestro país se articule con el mercado internacional vía la exportación de fibra de alpaca. En el presente artículo, analizamos cómo dos inmigrantes llegados al Perú con el fin de participar en el comercio de fibra de alpaca, logran primeramente consolidarse en el campo de la comercialización de la fibra, para luego dar origen a dos importantes grupos económicos que han logrado implementar Complejos Textiles verticalmente integrados empleando diferentes estrategias de crecimiento.
