Cuando el dinero no importa o la política monetaria aprista, Perú: 1985-1988

Abstract

En este artículo el autor presenta una visión crítica a diferentes aspectos de la política monetaria durante los primeros tres años del gobierno aprista. De este modo, se caracteriza dicha política por haber adoptado como supuesto de trabajo que "el dinero no importa", es decir, que no tiene efectos sobre las diferentes variables macroeconómicas. A lo largo del artículo se desarrollan argumentos que llevan a la conclusión de que la crisis actual se explica por la serie de errores no sólo en el manejo de los instrumentos, sino por la concepción teórica sobre la importancia y efectos del dinero en la economía.
