Verticalidad y horizontalidad en la industria norteamericana actual

Abstract

El propósito de este artículo es analizar algunas tendencias y cambios que están ocurriendo en la estructura monopólica industrial de la economía norteamericana, poniendo especial énfasis en algunas características pertinentes de la crisis industrial. Según el autor, esta crisis tiene un carácter estructural y de largo plazo, visible no sólo en el tipo de conformación monopólica de su industria sino también en la cada vez más débil tendencia a la formación de capital en la economía y en el lento avance de su productividad respecto a otras economías, incluso en sectores claves como la microelectrónica y la producción de bienes de capital. Del mismo modo, se constata que la economía norteamericana ha ido demostrando en la última década que fue articulada menos sólidamente que otras economías para competir con y dirigirse hacia el exterior.
