Agricultura peruana y campesinado: balance de la investigación reciente y patrón de evolución

Abstract

La investigación agraria en el Perú ha conocido un desarrollo inusitado en los setenta. Ha habido una ruptura con el pasado. A diferencia de la investigación de las dos décadas anteriores, cuyo cuerpo e impulso procedía principalmente de investigadores extranjeros, sobre todo americanos, ésta se ha hecho con 'recursos nacionales' (incluyendo algunos importados de otras áreas latinas, lo suficientemente establecidos y asimilados como para que la distinción pierda interés). El trabajo procede además de investigadores independientes, en universidades y centros de investigación, y tiene una orientación crítica más que tecnocrática y una voluntad de servir a los intereses populares y no sólo al avance de las carreras académicas de los autores. Se trata también, de investigación hecha con seriedad y rigor. Dicho más exactamente, el volumen de trabajos serios (dentro del total de investigaciones sobre temas agrarios) ha alcanzado en los 70s una magnitud importante.
