Abstract

Intensifying international tourist trips and the pressure that they exert on fragile areas, especially on protected areas, generate a range of issues related to achieving a balance between tourism resources on the one hand and tourism activities on the other, between benefits of tourism for local communities and the negative impact that it could have on the environment. Within this context, the identification of the methods and the indicators for assessing the impact of tourism and the implementation of protected areas management tools have an important role in ensuring sustainable development in these areas. This work was supported by CNCSIS –UEFISCDI, project number PNII – IDEI 1811/2008, “Implementation dynamic of the communitary politics in valorization through tourism of the Romanian protected areas and the projection of an integrate management architecture of these protected areas”.
