Trust, institutions and the 'generally speaking question': a reply to Uslaner

Author

Abstract

In his critical reply on my article, Uslaner points to several issues, amongst others the lack of observations in the principal components analysis, and the fundamental relationship between micro and macro trust on the one hand and institutions on the other hand. Of these two I hold the second one to be most important and I will therefore focus on this issue. I will also use this opportunity to position our trust discussion in the broader context of contemporary economic research on culture. Copyright The Author 2008.
